Think about your most trusted person. It could be your mom or dad, a sister or a brother, your husband or your wife, your best friend, or perhaps it could even be your teacher or a co-worker. The point is that you trust that person so much you can tell him or her everything you wanted to say about how you think or feel, openly sharing with that person all the joys and frustrations as well as desires and longings of your heart.
Not only do you trust that person but also you do enjoy that person’s presence so much that you don’t mind spending a lot of quality time together even if most of those times are spent merely on talking. In a similar manner, that’s what happens when you pray. The only difference is that in a prayer, you are communing with God.
But unlike your most trusted person, God is a supreme, all-powerful being. You can not see Him, but you can definitely experience His presence in your life (as long as you allow Him to). Because He is all-powerful than any person you know, you can always trust Him, delight yourself in Him and commit your ways to God; When you do, God is able to act and give you the desires of your heart. (Psalms 37:4-5)
A prayer is a solemn conversation between you and God. The ACTS of prayer includes Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication.
The power of prayer, however, is measured by how genuine your faith is in God. When you ask God for provision, healing, protection or any other supplication you may have, how much of you truly believes that God will answer your prayers? How much of you truly believes that God is so good, gracious and glorious that every time you ask God something in Jesus’ name, the answer is a definite YES?
Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. ~ John 14:13-14
Just as death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21), so are words in the form of a prayer.
If there’s anything you want me to include in my prayers, you can request for prayer now.
